Should I Plead Guilty?
Our Austell DUI Lawyers believe you should never “just plead guilty” to your Austell DUI charge. If you choose an Austell DUI Attorney from the Law Office of Richard Lawson, they will attend your first court appearance, or arraignment, for you and enter a plea of “not guilty.” The main purpose of the arraignment is for your charges against you to be read and enter your plea.
If you are concerned that if you plead “not guilty” and decide to later plead “guilty,” you will be penalized. Do not worry, the criminal justice system is made for you to plead “not guilty,” because, in America, you are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. First of all, this allows your Austell DUI Attorney to examine every piece of evidence against you to see if the prosecution has enough to prove you guilty and make sure the evidence against you was obtained and without any error on the part of law enforcement. Our Austell DUI Lawyers are always looking for ways to win your case.
The criminal justice system is also designed so your Austell DUI Attorney can negotiate the best possible outcome for you. Our Austell DUI Lawyers have negotiated many plea agreements and dismissals for our clients. The legal team at the Law Offices of Richard Lawson uses their experience to get good outcomes for their clients.
An Acworth DUI conviction can cost a small fortune! You could face steep fines, time in jail, loss of your driver's license, and even the loss of your employment.
