State v. DG
The client was stopped for running a red light and arrested for DUI after submitting to field sobriety testing. There was no video of the arrest. The State ultimately agreed to reduce the charge to Reckless Driving because the officer was not credible at a motion hearing. His training had not included formal DUI detection nor SFST's (Standardized Field Sobriety Testing). The arresting officer was not qualified to make DUI arrests in Georgia. That is why we always check an officer's training history.
