Atlanta rapper “Young Thug” (also known as Jeffrey Williams) was arrested and booked into the Fulton County Jail late Tuesday night for possession of a controlled substance, laying drags, reckless driving, reckless conduct, and driving without a seatbelt. Police reported that Young Thug threw a gun out of the car window while they were trying to pull him over. Once he was stopped, police found Xanax in the car, and when they ran his license they discovered an outstanding warrant for drug possession.
Interestingly, laying drags is a very serious traffic offense. If convicted the penalty includes losing your drivers license. In combination with a DUI offense, it would prevent a person convicted from receiving a restricted license for even a first offense DUI. Like laying drags, racing has similar penalties.
Understanding underlying offenses and how they can affect a DUI Defense is one of the reason anyone accused of DUI needs to hire an experienced Atlanta DUI lawyer.
Young Thug had signed with Gucci Mane's label 1017 Brick Squad Records in 2013, the same record label as Waka Flocka Flame, Chief Keef, and Young Scooter. He has collaborated with Rich Homie Quan and also recorded songs with Kanye West.
