Driver Gives Police Officer a Beer When Asked for Driver's License

Posted by Richard Lawson | May 05, 2014 | 0 Comments

Saturday morning around 2:15 am Dunwoody police officer Alvin Rodriguez arrested Damon Tobias Exum after Exum hit the officer's vehicle.  When Rodriguez asked Exum to see his driver's license he was surprised at what Exum gave him instead; he gave Officer Rodriquez a beer.

No one was injured in the crash but Exum, 37, of Dunwoody, was “heavily intoxicated” and completely unaware he had struck the police car.

Exum was charged with eight misdemeanors, including reckless driving and DUI.  He was arrested and taken to DeKalb County Jail with a bond of $3270.

Even though a misdemeanor, DUI is a very serious crime.  Driving under the influence puts your life and the rest of the public's lives in danger.  It could mean the loss of your privilege to drive, your job, and even your freedom.  Don't do it.  Call a cab or a friend.  It's better to be safe than sorry.
