DUI Arrests Increase in Barrow County Georgia

Barrow County News reports that DUI arrests have increased in Winder, Georgia. Increased patrols and government concentration on DUI enforcement have almost doubled arrests since 2012.

Cpl. Chris Wigner of the Winder Police Department has been particularly credited for increased enforcement. His duties include traffic enforcement, DUI enforcement, and handling accidents involving injuries.

MADD awarded Wigner as a “DUI Hero” for having more than 100 DUI Arrests in the following calendar year.

Winder Chief of Police, Jim Fullington, has prioritized making the roads safer for all drivers. That means focusing on more than just DUI enforcement. The Chief wants his office to enforce all traffic laws to make the roadways safer in his community.
