Former NBA guard Mookie Blaylock is facing several charges for a car accident he caused on Friday, June 1st in Jonesboro, GA when his vehicle left its lane and hit a van with 2 passengers inside. Not only is he now being charged with driving on a suspended license and failure to maintain his lane, but one of the passengers in the van was killed, so Blaylock is now facing vehicular homicide charges as well.
A 43-year-old woman who was a passenger in the van died hours after the accident due to her injuries. Blaylock was also injured in the crash and was taken to Atlanta Medical Center for treatment.Mookie, who played for the Atlanta Hawks between 1992 and 1999, is now in police custody and told authorities that he blacked out before the crash and doesn't remember anything afterwards. It is not believed that alcohol was involved in the accident and police are still looking into his medical history.
