Gwinnett County Recorders Court

I am asked every day, what is the Gwinnett County Recorders Court and why is my case starting there.  The Gwinnett Recorders Court is the court where all traffic misdemeanors, such as a DUI in Gwinnett County, begin.  If you were arrested in the unincorporated areas of the county, your DUI case will be prosecuted in the Recorders Court.

If you are arrested for DUI within the city limits of an incorporated area of Gwinnett County, your case will originate in the Municipal Court of that city.  Examples are:

  1. Lawrenceville Municipal Court
  2. Dululth Municipal Court
  3. Suwanee Municipal Court
  4. Lilburn Municipal Court
  5. Snellville Municipal Court
  6. Peachtree Corners Municipal Court
  7. Norcross Municipal Court
