Tyrone Breedlove allegedly led a Georgia State Patrol trooper on a highspeed chase through the Downtown Atlanta Connector that ended in a crash. According to reports the chase started on I85 South near Clairmont Road.

The trooper attempted to make a traffic stop after he caught Breedlove allegedly speeding which initiated the chase. The trooper at one point positioned his patrol vehicle in what is known as a PIT maneuver in an attempt to stop Breedlove's vehicle. This is what caused the crash that sent Breedlove's car careening into the woods on the south shoulder and sent the trooper's car flying airborne into the same woods.
The trooper was only trapped in the patrol car for a few minutes before he was able to make it out through a passenger side window. Breedlove reportedly fled into the woods and wasn't caught and detained until an hour later.
