State v. T.M.
August 2013
The client was a foreign national from Japan and was charged with DUI in Dawson County GA. He was confused with the procedures and ended up refusing testing. After his arrest he was originally offered to plea guilty to the DUI. After much persistence, the District Attorney's officer finally offered a reduction to reckless driving, but wanted the client to serve jail-time in exchange for the plea. That was not good enough, so after more persistence, the client was finally offered the reckless driving plea without any jail time and was extremely pleased. He came to court with all of the conditions of his probation already completed and as a result, he was able to return home to Japan without having to worry about probation or the DUI.
