Thoughts as we near the end of 2017

Posted by Richard Lawson | Dec 22, 2017 | 2 Comments

As we come to end of another year, all of us should take time to be thankful. At our office party this evening, I spent some social time with the dedicated professionals with whom I work.

For years I practiced on my own. Now, I am honored to work with Georgia DUI Attorneys that truly care about their clients and the practice of law.

As criminal defense attorneys, we are often criticized and questioned as to why we zealously represent our clients. With the sub-specialty of Georgia DUI Defense, we are even more ridiculed.

It is a shame that for many people it takes the arrest of a loved-one to understand the importance of what we do.

We hold the government to its burden of proof.  We protect and defend the United States Constitution and the Georgia Constitution. We make sure that the innocent are not persecuted, and the guilty are treated fairly and proportionally.

We assume the unpopular role as criminal defense attorneys to take the pressure off the entire legal system. The system cannot function when the accused are not defended.  Judges and prosecutors cannot do their job without us, and they damn well know it.

We take the lumps and get up the next day and take them again. I am very proud to be associated with the ethical and decent Georgia DUI Defense Attorneys at our office.

I am also very thankful for the opportunity to defend people who have made mistakes. As for innocent people who have chosen our office, thank you for the confidence in us.

I hope that 2018 is a great year for everyone. 2018 will (God willing) see my 23rd year as an attorney, with 100% of my practice in criminal law.

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.

Boom! Well said!

Keep fighting the good fight. I am sure your clients and their loved ones understand what a positive and important impact you have, even if others don’t. Happy New Year, I hope 2018 only brings you more success.
